Brillat-Savarin cheese, the Savarin mould, a ring mold with
a rounded contour, and Gâteau Savarin
are named in his honor.
His reputation was revitalized among
modern gastronomes by his influence over Chairman Kaga of the TV series "Iron
Chef" which introduced to millions the mot "Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you
are."
Brillat-Savarin is often considered as the
father of low-carbohydrate diet. He considered sugar and
white flour to be the cause of obesity and he suggested instead protein-rich
ingredients.
Sure enough, carnivorous animals never grow fat (consider wolves, jackals, birds of prey, crows, etc.). Herbivorous animals do not grow fat easily, at least until age has reduced them to a state of inactivity; but they fatten very quickly as soon as they begin to be fed on potatoes, grain, or any kind of flour. ... The second of the chief causes of obesity is the floury and starchy substances which man makes the prime ingredients of his daily nourishment. Eneas Sweetland Dallas wrote Kettner's Book of the Table, a Manual of Cookery, 1877, a
treatise on gastronomy based on the work of Brillat-Savarin. Dallas
published his book under the pseudonym of A. Kettner.

Marie-Antoine Carême
Marie Antoine (Antonin) Carême (8 June 1784–12 January 1833), known as the "King of Chefs, and the Chef of Kings" was an early practitioner and exponent of the elaborate style of cooking known as haute cuisine, the "high art" of French cooking: a grandiose style of cookery favored by both international royalty and by the newly rich of Paris. Carême is often considered as one of the first internationally renowned celebrity chefs.
Influence
In his first major position, Carême worked as chef de cuisine to Talleyrand who actively encouraged Carême in the development of a new refined food style using herbs and fresh vegetable, simplified sauces with few ingredients. Talleyrand became a famous host during the Congress of Vienna - when the congress disbanded, not only the map of Europe but also the culinary tastes of its upper classes were thoroughly revised.
Carême's impact on culinary matters ranged from trivial to theoretical. He is credited with creating the standard chef's hat, the toque; he designed new sauces and dishes, he published a classification of all sauces into groups, based on four mother sauces. He is also frequently credited with replacing the practice of service à la française (serving all dishes at once) with service à la russe (serving each dish in the order printed on the menu) after he returned from service in the Russian court, but others say he was a diehard supporter of service à la française.

Carême wrote several books on cookery, above all the encyclopedic L'Art de la Cuisine Française (5 vols, 1833–34, of which he had completed three before his death), which included, aside from hundreds of recipes, plans for menus and opulent table settings, a history of French cookery, and instructions for organizing kitchens.

ROSA KOIRE: HUFFINGTON POST INTERVIEW
Rosa Koire, Democrats Against UN Agenda 21,
being interviewed by Andrew Reinbach, Huffington Post columnist for an article
on opposition to UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development. Reinbach baited Rosa,
put words into her mouth, asked her if she was 'afraid that she would be tarred
with the same brush as the John Birch Society', and tried to suggest that
zoning and UN Agenda 21 are the same thing. Rosa resisted his efforts to
marginalize her and the fight against this blueprint for world inventory and
control.
At the end of the interview Rosa asked
Reinbach if he was recording the interview and when he said he was, she told
him that she also was recording it. This is probably why he didn't quote her or

to be an ongoing, work-in-progress, as it takes a lot of time to research,
review, and rebut the "tsunami' of BS and disinformation assembled by a
growing phalanx of Fukushima radiation fear promoters. For now, I'll start with
an introduction to the main protagonists and fold in the writings of other
critics and debunkers of the Fukushima Radiation Scare Corps. I'm sure there
are many other radiation alarmists out there beyond the ones I've listed here.
If you wish to review and offer your own critical analysis of any of the
radiation fear promoters listed here (or others not listed), please feel free
to submit your review for inclusion in this paper I don't have the time to
listen to and analyze each and every Fukushima fear promoter and I would

Proxemics is
a subcategory of the study of nonverbal communication along with haptics
(touch), kinesics (body movement), vocalics (paralanguage), and chronemics
(structure of time). Proxemics can be defined as "the interrelated
observations and theories of man’s use of space as a specialized elaboration of
culture”. Edward T. Hall, the cultural anthropologist who coined the term in
1963, emphasized the impact of proxemic behavior (the use of space) on
interpersonal communication. Hall believed that the value in studying proxemics
comes from its applicability in evaluating not only the way man interacts with
others in his daily life, but also "the organization of space in his
houses and buildings, and ultimately the layout of his towns.
In animals, Swiss
zoologist Heini Hediger had distinguished between flight distance (run
boundary), critical distance (attack boundary), personal distance (distance
separating members of non-contact species, as a pair of swans), and social
distance (intraspecies communication distance). Hall reasoned that, with very
few exceptions, flight distance and critical distance have been eliminated in
human reactions, and thus interviewed hundreds of people to determine modified
criteria for human interactions.
In his work on
proxemics, Edward T. Hall separated his theory into two overarching categories:
personal space and territory. Personal space describes the immediate space
surrounding a person, while territory refers to the area which a person may
"lay claim to" and defend against others. His theory on
territoriality has been applied to animal behaviors as well; defending
territory is said to be a means of "propagation of the species by
regulating density".

A
World of Abundance or a World of Scarcity

Over
the last 25 years, I have come to realise that the world is not as I thought it
was. For me, the pace of realisation rapidly increased with advent of the
Internet and was catalysed by the ability to do accelerated research and
correspondence with people around the world.
I
write this piece as a call to all readers, researchers and activists –
particularly in the “alternative knowledge” community - to realise connections
– and research a wider set of evidence than they might have done up to now. I
say this because I strongly feel there is a great need to raise awareness of
the choices we now have available to us. I have given the title “alternative
knowledge” to all the types of topics that are rarely taught in schools,
college or universities but nevertheless there is strong evidence to
demonstrate the validity of this knowledge.
If
we are to change our future, the first stage must be to realise – as fully as
possible – the predicament we are now in. Whilst it is true that existing power
structures and institutions will not acknowledge the truths discussed here (in
any meaningful way), it is also true that the “alternative knowledge” community
itself does not seem able, on the whole, to “deal with” some of the evidence
which these truths can be deduced from.
I
now feel that there is sufficient evidence “on the table” to state, with
confidence, that parts of the alternative knowledge community are being
“managed”, in subtle ways, so that the rate at which information flows - and
connections are made - is slowed down, or that same flow is abruptly arrested
or even reversed, in certain quarters. Seemingly, confusion and fear is
injected at regular intervals and “in fighting” among various “factions” is
deliberately started. This can prevent curious people from discovering the
truth, as they are distracted from (or do not have time for) peering “through
the clouds of confusion” that have been wafted around. I have concluded
elsewhere that one of the best ways to determine who is telling the truth is to
focus on evidence – verifiable pictures, measurements, practical “real world”
knowledge, volumes of publicly available witness testimony, data and video
gathered even by oneself. Indeed, in science and in legal matters, this is (or
should be) the way truth is established.
But what

know, the less worried you are about climate
'Abandon focus on sound science', say
trick-cyclists
A US government-funded survey has
found that Americans with higher levels of scientific and mathematical
knowledge are more sceptical regarding the dangers of climate change than their
more poorly educated fellow citizens.
The results of the survey are
especially remarkable as it was plainly not intended to show any such thing:
Rather, the researchers and trick-cyclists who carried it out were doing so
from the position that the "scientific consensus" (carbon-driven
global warming is ongoing and extremely dangerous) is a settled fact, and the
priority is now to find some way of getting US voters to believe in the need
for urgent, immediate and massive action to reduce CO2 emissions.
A theory exists among some
psychologists, sociologists and other soft "scientists" that it
should be possible to convince the ordinary citizenry to accept the various
huge costs advocated by environmentalists, by simply raising the level of
scientific knowledge and numeracy. People would then be able to understand that
there is a terrible danger facing the human race and so would support action to
address it. Certainly it appears to be a fact that very few people in the
general public – or indeed, in various architecture and industrial-design
faculties – have enough basic physics and numeracy to join the debate at all
(as the recent rash of human-powered "crowd farm" generator projects
illustrates all too plainly).
Thus, in a just-published US National
Science Foundation-funded study, participants' science knowledge and numeracy
was tested and compared with levels of concern regarding climate change. The
soft-studies profs were amazed, however, to find that as one moves up the scale
of science knowledge and numeracy, people become more sceptical, not less.
According to the profs, this is not
because the idea of imminent carbon-driven catastrophe is perhaps a bit
scientifically suspect. Rather it is because people classed as
"egalitarian communitarians" (roughly speaking, left-wingers) are
always highly concerned about climate change, and become slightly more so as
they acquire more science and numeracy. Unfortunately, however,
"hierarchical individualists" (basically, right-wingers) are quite
concerned about climate change when they're ignorant: but if they have any
scientific, mathematic or technical education this causes them to become
strongly sceptical.
As scientific/tech knowledge and
numeracy appears to be more common among "hierarchical
individualists" than among "egalitarian communitarians", this
meant that in the sample as a whole the effect of more scientific knowledge and
numeracy was to increase scepticism.
Given that the profs had assumed from
the start that scepticism is wrong, this forced them to the conclusion that
simply teaching people more science and giving them more facts and numbers is
not a good idea as it will lead them into bad (sceptical) decisions. They
write:
This form of reasoning can have a highly
negative impact on collective decision making ... it is very harmful to
collective welfare for individuals in aggregate to form beliefs this way.
One
aim of science communication, we submit, should be to dispel this tragedy ... A
communication strategy that focuses only on transmission of sound scientific
information, our results suggest, is unlikely to do that. As worthwhile as it
would be, simply improving the clarity of scientific information will not
dispel public conflict...
Thus it is, according to the
assembled profs, that the US government should seek to fund a communication
strategy on climate change which is not focused on sound scientific
information.
It does not follow, however, that nothing
can be done ... Effective strategies include use of culturally diverse
communicators, whose affinity with different communities enhances their
credibility, and information-framing techniques that invest policy solutions
with resonances congenial to diverse groups. Perfecting such techniques through
a new science of science communication is a public good of singular importance.
There's something of a push
developing in psychology, sociology and other soft-science departments
worldwide for this "new science of communicating science", which is
supposed to galvanise the electorates of the developed world into demanding
serious action against carbon emissions and acceptance of the serious sacrifices
this would mean. We've compared this idea before to Isaac Asimov's
science-fictional notion of the discipline of "Psychohistory" - a set
of methods which could be used to manipulate populations on a large scale*.
This might be seen from an
egalitarian communitarian viewpoint as a good thing, simply changing people's
beliefs for the manifest collective good.
Your hierarchical individualist,
however, might sneer cynically – first at the prospect of a shower of
trick-cyclists managing to change his or her mind on climate change by means of
spin rather than hard numbers. The hierarchical individualist might also view
the "science of communicating science" push as a rather ignoble
attempt by the soft-studies profs to get a share of the climate change research
funding bonanza that has poured into the hard science and biology faculties in
recent decades.
And anyone at all might be rather
alarmed, perhaps, at the prospect of actual success in the matter of developing
a working discipline of Psychohistory – which could and would surely be used in
other areas than climate change policy, and would surely be a threat to democracy
if it worked as advertised.
For all that there's no serious
likelihood of the soft-studies profs genuinely managing to pump up climate fear
successfully where legions of activists and climatologists before them have
failed, US taxpayers of every political stripe might very well quarrel with the
idea of spending their science budget with the aim of placing enormous
political power in the hands of the trick-cyclist community.

…and it’s not what you might first expect. Or not only that. In a lively interview the Atlantic’s Jennie Rosenberg Gritz spoke with Eytan Kobre, an organizer of last weekend’s event at Citi Field in New York. Though some outsiders framed that public showing as a technophobic “rally against the Internet,” it was really more of a discussion on the pros and cons of integrating digital media into a devout, communitarian way of life. As Kobre concedes, television and the Internet present real complications for a people literally “of the book”:

Yes, and these are all things Nick Carr wrote about in his Atlantic cover story, “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” He talks about how the Internet affects cognition — short-term memory and long-term memory, the ability to sit and read a book in depth, and so on.
In fact, I was looking at another piece at TheAtlantic.com, a blog post by Ross Douthat. He was addressing a comment by another writer who said that Google had been immeasurably beneficial to his research. It enabled him to have obscure volumes at his fingertips. Douthat responded, “The web is very good for certain forms of writing — the highly political and the highly personal chief among them — and very bad for others. … The Google effect makes it harder to write War and Peace, and harder to read it.”
I was struck by that, because that kind of in-depth reading constitutes a large part of what we do. When you look at Talmud study, the study of Jewish ethics and philosophy, there’s a lot of complex stuff going on there. The ability to study those works can be undermined by Google and the Internet.
[At the rally,] you’re dressing the same way your 18th century ancestors did, which implies that you’re rejecting the modern world.
There may be elements of truth to that. But the irony is that hipsters all dress a certain way, and the whole point is to dress entirely different from everyone else. Orthodox Jews actually have the courage to dress the same way as 500,000 of their brethren. They’re the ones who challenge people by asking, “Are you deep enough to look beyond my garb and relate to me as a thinking individual?”

The Irreligious Market Ethic

Do you know what the famous book The Protestant Ethic
is about? Scholars of the twentieth century misinterpreted it, in some
cases deliberately. Most people receive their ideas about Weber not from
Weber but from Weberian scholars. So maybe you don’t?
The
prose of most of Weber’s writings resembles physics or chemistry in its
precision, and abstract philosophy or postmodern critique in the
turgidity of its composition. These works of genius provided various of
the enduring foundational concepts of social science.
'The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism', in contrast, is short and readable, quite unimportant, and impossible to understand without reference to his other writings!
Weber
was a complex bourgeois liberal intellectual who believed passionately
in markets and law, meritocratic leadership, objectivity, and impersonal
society. He viewed markets in secular rationalistic and evolutionary
terms. His thesis was, if nothing else, a compelling critique of
twentieth century ideologies. Given the combination of indispensable
theory and unpopular ideas, scholars manoeuvred hard to take what they
needed and hide the inconvenient parts.
To cut to the chase -- Weber’s theory of ethics in market society is irreligious.
It has little or nothing to do with “culture”. In his introduction to The Protestant Ethic Weber almost disowns the book by warning the reader that the assembled essays “treat only one side of the causal chain”. In The Protestant Ethic Weber was just warming-up to the marathon exploration of all the links in the chain of causes that create and sustain capitalism.
In
this post I will briefly: (1) disentangle the irreligious from the
religious; (2) suggest secular factors that animate bourgeois business;
(3) explain the vital economic double-ethic which preceded
Protestantism.
It
helps to understand that Weber viewed the bearers of Protestant ideas
who contributed to laying the ethical foundations for capitalism in
early modern Europe as “social carriers of ideologies”. It was not a
conscious delivery of capitalist ideology, of course. It was simply that
Puritan sermons spread an ethos of methodical labour, honesty,
prudence, thrift, deferred gratification, and so on, which coincided --
conveniently -- with the economic ethics of the rising business class.
His explanation of religion as ideology emerges in the context of his
general analysis of ideologies -- secular and religious -- and his
criticism of contra-capitalist intellectuals. It implies the possibility
(now?) of new secular ethical capitalist ideologies.
The spirit of capitalism was “a sort of liberal enlightenment” that looked favorably on business success.
There
were “correlations between forms of religious belief and practical
ethics”. Every scientist knows correlations are not causation. It would
be “foolish and doctrinaire” to claim capitalism only evolved because of
the Reformation attack on Catholicism and the rise of Protestantism. In
northern Europe and the United States, Protestantism “helped to deliver
the spirit of modern capitalism”. It was fortuitous circumstance that
religious belief became an ideological carrier for the rational “ethos
of the modern bourgeois middle classes”. Puritan sects were bearers for
the asceticism and vocation for hard, methodical, and honest work that
helped build the foundations of modern individualism.
A Protestant style of life coincided
with the “self-justification that is customary for bourgeois
acquisition: profit and property appear not as ends in themselves but as
indications of personal ability”. Religious ideas were expressions of
national character during the European middle ages, but were equally a
product of geographic, political, and economic circumstances, and of the
growth of cities, law, bookkeeping, and science.
Economic
interests often lay behind the attitudes of Protestantism. Liberal
enlightenment then rapidly stripped economic life of religious content.
In the early twentieth century Weber declared the “religious root of
modern economic humanity is dead”.
A modern ethic of capitalism originated in “social premiums”
attached to ethical conduct that resulted from the spread of market
relations. Bourgeois ethics, according to Weber, are the premiums placed
on discipline, production, probity, and cautionary finance, which were
founding principles of early capitalism. In capitalist society,
moneymaking and capital accumulation are acceptable if “done legally” as
expressions of “virtue and proficiency”.
Capitalists
are driven by an impulse to make money, of course, but also by
moneymaking morals and the “irrational sense of having done the job
well”. You see this clearly because you know that “acquisitiveness” is
by no means unique to capitalism and has been “at home in all types of
economic society”. Let’s go one step further, said Weber: “Absolute
unscrupulousness in the making of money has been a specific
characteristic of precisely those countries whose… capitalistic
development... has remained backward”.
Having
twice said religion and market ethics simply “coincided” we should now
go further back in history to understand the birth of (pre-Protestant)
market ethics.
The key transition in the morals of economic activity is the gradual abandonment of the communitarian conventions of pre-capitalist society. Instead we see the emergence of universal economic norms. What are communitarian norms in this context? They
are interpersonal rather than impersonal. They rest on relations of
trust between persons in communities that are not mediated by
third-party (state) legal norms.
The
main point is that a sharp separation between the ethics of internal
transactions and the ethics of external transactions holds back the
development of capitalism. Weber called this problem the “double-ethic”.
Traditional society does not approve when people profit from
transactions with other members of their own community. On the other
hand, it may be permissible to engage ruthlessly in economic dealings
with outsiders.
Economic
freedom within the community is deliberately limited, but external
economic exchange is undertaken in an atmosphere of suspicion and
hostility.
If
a community’s maxim is that “brothers do not bargain with one another”
then it may be taken for granted that the “market principle of price
determination” is absent. Nationalism, which Weber described as “the
pathetic pride in the power of one’s own community, or a longing for
it”, preserves the moral double standard of hostility towards outsiders.
The transition to market society therefore requires a two-fold ethical transformation.
1.
The transition destroys the ethics that subordinate economic exchange
to social approval based on status, kinship, ritual, prohibitions on
usury, or irrational limitations on the kinds of goods that can be
exchanged.
2.
The ethic that legitimizes cheating in exchange with people outside the
community is eliminated. A condition of capitalist transition in the
Western world, explained Weber, was a “lifting of the barrier between
the internal and external economy, between internal and external ethics,
and the entry of commercial principles into the internal economy”.
The
marketplace breaks down all economically irrational ethics and forms of
rulership that are obstacles to free exchange. Commercial principles
are applied in the internal economy, while ethics of fair dealing are
preserved and extended to the external economy.
Weber argued that when a market can “follow its own autonomous tendencies” it creates impersonal
communities where economic behaviour is no longer oriented to
brotherhood but rather to matter-of-fact calculation of profits,
exchange, competitive survival. The ruling principle is “honesty is the
best policy”. Honesty is the reputation mechanism encouraging repetition
of exchange knowing that promises were kept and may be kept in the
future.
To sum up:
Protestantism
unintentionally performed the ideological function of legitimizing the
acquisition of wealth through property and profit-making at a critical
moment in the northern European transition to capitalism. Social
premiums on personal self-control that regulated the conditions for
religious salvation complemented the economic premiums that motivated
entrepreneurs who seized the opportunity to become competitive on the
eve of the industrial revolution. Equivalent ‘premiums’ soon spread to
law and government.
This
is not the end of the story! The next stage in the ethical transition
was the industrial revolution and secular entrepreneurial innovation.
That needs a post of its own.

ambitious, corrupted, or deluded citizens, (who devote themselves to the
favorite nation,) facility to betray or sacrifice the interests of their own
country, without odium, sometimes even with popularity; gilding, with the
appearances of a virtuous sense of obligation, a commendable deference for
public opinion, or a laudable zeal for public good, the base or foolish
compliances of ambition, corruption, or infatuation.”

about the “variety of evils” that ensue from America’s (and some other
countries’) passionate attachment to Israel.

The official history of presidential
assassinations depicts them as random events performed by lone nuts who blow
their tops and start shooting. But when we look at the pattern of murdered U.S.
presidents, a disturbing pattern emerges.
All the U.S. presidents who died in office
were all killed by the same mysterious people for the same mysterious reason —
control of the money supply.
John F. Kennedy, in 1963, was jacked for
challenging the hegemony of Israel, the mob, and the Federal Reserve; William McKinley,
in 1900, was gut shot for opposing creation of the Federal Reserve; James
Garfield, in 1881, was shot in the back shortly after uttering the assessment
that bankers controlled everything; and Abraham Lincoln, in 1865, was
unceremoniously terminated for creating an independent currency, as Kennedy did
a century later.
In addition to the four well-known murders of
American presidents, four other assassinations — William Henry Harrison (1841),
Zachary Taylor (1850), Warren Harding (1926), and Franklin Roosevelt (1945) —
are well documented outside the mainstream record of history, which is
controlled by the people who hire these assassins.
All were liquidated for opposing the plans of
the international bankers who have controlled the world since history began.
When you correlate the corpses of national
leaders and their cause of death to their public statements, you discover the
identity of the killers in every single case is Jewish, even if the actual
assassins are non-Jewish proxies. This even includes the killing of promising
presidential candidate Huey Long in 1935, by a Jewish doctor named Carl Weiss.
When it comes to non-presidential
assassinations committed by Jews, the numbers run into the thousands. Some
significant Judeo hits, all of which involved control of the money supply or
suppression of other Jewish crime schemes, include Rep. Lewis McFadden in 1933,
Treasury Secretary James Forrestal in 1949, and pop superstar Michael Jackson
in 2009, all for trying to warn us about the Jewish takeover of the world.
But this horrible phenomenon extends far
beyond the United States.
Four of five Russian czars of the 19th
century (as well as a fifth in 1917) were assassinated by Jews — the same
perfect record Jews own with American presidents.
Track this recurring political tool back as
far as you like in history and you'll find the same circumstances pertain to
the assassinations of King Charles I of England and King Louis XVI of France,
as well as innumerable kings of countless other countries, as far back in
history as you care to look.
THE ASSASSINATION OF ALL 8
U.S. PRESIDENTS WAS DONE BY JEWS!
The first attempted U.S. presidential
assassination occurred in 1835, when our 7th president, Andrew Jackson,
successfully shut down the national bank, by which the European Jewish bankers
controlled America. Would be assassin Richard Lawrence fired twice, but both
shots misfired. Jackson promptly beat him with his cane.
Assassination No 1.
1841: WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON, our 9th
president, killed by doctors.
An official report at the time stated
Harrison died not of pneumonia, which is the mainstream story, but really died
from the treatment he was subjected to for “an ordinary winter cold.” In the
Currier lithograph depicting Harrison's death bed scene, Daniel Webster is
shown giving an enthusiastic thumbs up. The August 1841 edition of the Boston
Medical and Surgical Journal, published just a few months after Harrison’s
death, suggests that it was the medical treatment that Harrison received, and
not any virus or bacteria, which caused his demise. Vice President Tyler then
broke all Harrison's campaign promises and became a pariah to both parties.
Assassination No. 2.
1850: ZACHARY TAYLOR, our 12th president, poisoned
by a bowl of cherries and milk.
Hero general of the Mexican war, Taylor
disagreed with the Democrats over the concept of a strong national bank and
opposed the extension of slavery. They exhumed Taylor's body in 1991 and found
traces of arsenic in his bones. Vice President Fillmore reversed all his
policies. Remember, 1848 was the year Karl Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto
and didn't mention the Rothschilds.
Assassination No. 3.
1865: ABRAHAM LINCOLN, our 16th president,
was shot in the head
and murdered in Ford's Theater, Washington.
The popular mainstream version is that Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes
Booth (a Jew) for opposing the plans of Rothschild bankers who were funding the
Confederacy. Alternative versions of the story include the Jesuits had him
killed out of revenge, Secretary of State Edwin Stanton arranged it, and the
Lincoln was really the son of a North Carolina Jew named Springsteen. The key
fact seems to be the Greenbacks currency Lincoln created when the bankers
wanted 36 percent interest on loans to finance the North in the War Between the
States.
Assassination No. 4.
1881: JAMES GARFIELD, our 20th president, shot
down in a Washington railroad station,
after saying bankers ran everything from
behind the scenes. "Whoever controls the volume of money in any country is
absolute master of all industry and commerce." Two weeks later, Garfield
was shot in the back by a delusional named Charles Guiteau, who supposedly was
miffed about not being named ambassador to France. By the time Garfield died
after 2 1/2 months of agony, his doctors had turned a three-inch-deep, harmless
wound into a 20-inch-long contaminated canyon stretching from his ribs to his
groin and oozing more pus each day. After Garfield's death his physicians
submitted a bill of $85,000 to the Senate. The Senators authorized a payment of
only $10,000. Many of them referred to the doctors as quacks.
Assassination No. 5.
1900: WILLIAM McKINLEY, our 25th president, shot
at point blank range in Buffalo, N.Y.
by a Jewish anarchist who got his gun from
the notorious Emma Goldman in a Brooklyn Workingman's Hall. Polish Jew Leon
Czolgosz pumped two slugs into the president's stomach at the World's Fair
while the president shook hands with citizens. Afterwards, a speech by Goldman
was found in the assassin's pocket. Bro. Nathanael Kapner writes: " . . .
McKinley was known as a “hard money” man. This was because he advocated a gold
standard. Unlike his opponent, William Jennings Bryan, McKinley was against “easy
money” with no backing — printed by Jewish lenders at interest to the borrower
— namely the US government. But by fighting against “easy money,” (translate
Jew-coined & printed-at-interest money) McKinley sealed his death warrant.
A death warrant signed, sealed, and delivered by the powerful House Of
Rothschild, criminals in bankers’ suits."
Assassination No. 6.
1923: WARREN G. HARDING, our 29th president, died
in San Francisco after being poisoned
for opposing Simon Guggenheim's oil-related
land grab in Alaska. Robust and healthy at age 57, Harding was the first U.S.
president to visit Alaska. On the way back, he developed food poisoning. After
lingering for a week in a San Francisco hotel room, he suddenly died. Four doctors
attending to him could not agree on his cause of death. He was embalmed within
the hour. Rumors blamed his jealous wife for avenging her husband's infidelity,
but Harding is most infamous for his complicity in the Teapot Dome scandal,
after which his Interior secretary Albert Fall went to jail for selling
multibillion dollar oil rights to oilman Harry Sinclair.
Assassination No. 7
1945: FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT, our 32nd
president, was murdered by his top adviser,
Henry Morgenthau, for refusing to drop atomic
bombs on Japan and his alleged reluctance to support the creation of the state
of Israel. One week before his death, in a letter dated April 5, 1945,
Roosevelt promised King Saud that he, as president of the United States, would
take no hostile action against the Arabs and that the United States would not
change its basic policy toward the Palestine issue without prior consultations
with both Arabs and Jews. Roosevelt's policy was reversed by his successor, Harry
Truman, who later recognized the State of Israel 11 minutes after it declared
itself a nation.
Other numerous reports claimed FDR shot
himself. “My mother always claimed that she was shopping in Bloomingdales in NYC
at the time the news of FDR's death was announced. She said that the
announcement over the store intercom that day, right after it happened, clearly
stated that he'd shot himself in the head. She also said that not long after,
the story given out by the news media suddenly changed to his death having been
of natural causes."
Assassination No. 8
1963: JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY, our 34th
president, gunned down in Dallas by multiple unknown assailants.
The nation's only Catholic president, Kennedy
was snuffed by a corrupt coalition of many (including Lyndon Johnson and George
H.W. Bush) for Israel, the mob and the Federal Reserve. Jennifer Lake writes:

Piper makes a case that JFK was thwarting the
nuclear-weapons ambition of Israel. He writes “Israel achieved its nuclear
weapons capabilities precisely because of the assassination of President
Kennedy.” He notes an American Free Press headline: “New Evidence Ties Israel’s
Nuclear Weapons Program to the New Orleans Connection in the JFK
Conspiracy“." And then there was also the not-so-little matter of his
creating currency in an attempt to disempower the Federal Reserve."
In addition, there were failed assassination
attempts against presidents Andrew Johnson, Theodore Roosevelt, FDR, Gerald
Ford, and Ronald Reagan, all attributed to 'lone nuts.'
But this well-documented historical pattern
of Jewish homicidal mania against leaders who refused to knuckle under to
bribes and blackmail extends across much of the world throughout history.
After the U.S., the second-most glaring
example of the persistence of Jewish killers is what happened to Russia in the
1800s. Jewish anarchists killed all but one of five Russian czars in the 19th
century, and culminated their murderous rampage by butchering the last czar and
his whole family during the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, which was wholly the
work of Jews funded by well-known Jewish bankers, principally Jacob Schiff, an
agent of the Rothschilds.
1801: PAUL I
Catherine the Great was a German woman who
engineered the killing of her husband Tsar Peter III and birthed Paul, whose
father was her court lover. Paul first married the daughter of the Landgrave of
Hesse, who furnished troops to England to suppress the American revolution.
Nevetheless, Paul was a sincere king, who was eventually killed by his mother's
corrupt co-conspirators, as well as his own son. His big mistake appears to
have been changing the rules of succession, depriving the nobility of its privileges,
and prohibiting women from ever again being named monarch.
1825: ALEXANDER I
Catherine's favorite grandson conspired in
the murder of his father and, according to official records eventually died of
typhus. But Count Cherep Spirodovich reveals that he was poisoned during a
lunch with Jews, and never recovered. (p. 114, The Hidden Hand). Shortly thereafter, Nathan Rothschild tried to
foment revolution in Russia, as his children did in 1830 and 1855.
1855: NICHOLAS I
England, France and Germany (by this time,
all taken over by Jews: Disraeli in England, the poseur Napoleon III in France,
and Bismarck in Germany) all joined together to prosecute the Crimean War in
the south of Russia. It failed, but two years later, the czar, who had been
called a demigod by a number of English writers, was poisoned by his own Jewish
doctor.
1881: ALEXANDER II
Perhaps the saddest of all was the fate of a
handsome prince known as the Tsar Liberator. He freed the Russian serfs in
1861, four years before Lincoln did the same. Most notably, he answered
President Lincoln's call for help and sent ships to San Francisco and New York
to help save the Union during the War Between the States. Later he gave Alaska
to the U.S. for practically nothing. He survived seven assassination attempts
before being blown up by the Jews he did his level best to liberate. And it
took two bombs to do it: while Alexander was riding in his carriage, a bomb
went off devastating a whole neighborhood. The king leapt out to help the
survivors, and as he did, another bomb killed him.
1917: NICHOLAS II
Russia's last czar and his family were foully
murdered by the Jews who were sent from America by the Jewish banker Jacob
Schiff. It was the same thing the Jews had done to Russia for hundreds of
years, only this time they succeeded in taking over the whole country. They
created the Soviet Union, which killed 66 million Russian natives. The moral
nature of Judaism is so insane that almost a hundred years after the man called
a demigod, Nicholas I, was poisoned by his Jewish doctor, the very savage who
killed more Russians than any other, Joseph Stalin, was himself poisoned by a
Jewish doctor when he was of no more use to the Hidden Hand.
In practically every nation on this Earth,
the Jewish Hidden Hand has killed legitimate leaders and replaced them with
Rothschild-manipulated phonies. This story does not even include most of the
world and the sabotage of legitimate governments and monarchies. The list would
be too long for one story.
As much as I'd like to write more about the
Jewish subversion of the 500 year old Habsburg Dynasty, or the intrigues of
ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt, let's just consider two more signal examples of
this unending Jewish murder scheme.
1793: KING LOUIS XVI OF FRANCE
The ugliest revolution of all was the French
Revolution, in which people all over France killed each other for reasons they
themselves did not understand (a situation about to happen today in the United
States). International Jewish money-lenders plotted and planned the Great
French Revolution of 1789, exactly the same way as they had plotted and planned
and financed the English Revolution of 1640-1649. The descendants of these same
International Jewish Financiers have been The Secret Power behind every war and
revolution from 1789 onwards. The king and his wife, the much maligned but
throughly slandered Marie Antoinette, were eventually beheaded by Rothschild's
subversives, and France has never been the same since. A recent president of
France, Sarkozy, was an actual CIA Mossad agent.
1645: KING CHARLES I OF ENGLAND
Jews were expelled from England in 1290, both
for typical usurious criminality and for killing Christian children and
draining them of their blood for Talmudic rituals. But in the 1600s, Dutch
Jewish bankers bribed Oliver Cromwell to overthrow a weak King Charles I, and
by manipulating the parliament, Cromwell succeeded. Charles was beheaded. The
financial takeover of the world by Jews had begun, and the principal Jewish
criminals of the world set up shop in the City of London, where they now
coordinate the ruination and enslavement of the entire world.
Count Cherep-Spirodovich, who had been a

Q. What is the Demiurge?
As you’ve probably figured out by now, my little site isn’t
intended as an historical discussion about what groups thought about the
literature. There’s a ton of good info out there about the Demiurge,
and I highly recommend perusing the (non-ridiculous) literature (a clue:
go to a library, or find somebody with a JSTOR
membership and dig out the MOST RECENT articles). This discussion will
be more theoretical, and concerns my own little system of thought. Your
mileage may vary.Since the beginning of its conceptualization, no character in Gnostic mythology is more divisive than the Demiurge, Saklas, Yaldabaoth, “Jehovah.” The theory of an imperfect, intermediary deity who participated in the act of creation– a deity often described in derogatory terms– isn’t the easiest conceit to discuss within the context of monotheism, even though the Gnostic idea of God definitely fits the bill. There *is* only One God, it’s just that some of us have the wrong idea about which God is the One. This makes for some uncomfortable discussions when you go around talking about, for instance, the Marcionite Demiurge, who is basically one-to-one with the wrathful God as represented in Genesis/Exodus/etc. (and therefore, per Marcion, the Judaic scriptures should be rejected).
Granted, Marcion’s interpretation was more nuanced, and can be reconciled with acceptance of mystical Judaism, but misinterpretation of ideas like Marcion’s leads to some serious anti-Semitic nastiness (Google “Gnostic Liberation Front” if you want an example– I don’t want to send anyone to such an odious site by linking to it). Still, it’s hard to tell people, “oh, you know that story you heard about Adam and Eve and whatnot? Well IT’S ALL WRONG, SUCKAS!” and have them get your meaning. I see this a lot in “Gnostic Gnewbies” who are in it for the shock value and don’t care what other people think– more on that in a moment– but more mature individuals should note, with some concern, that most people don’t like being told that their most essential beliefs are wrong. The whole “Demiurge” concept does just that, so how do we mitigate the noise when we’re trying to talk about Yaldy-baldy? We do so by trying to understand what we’re talking about, and how best to communicate that concept to other people.
First of all, let’s go ahead and address Dumbo (he’s right behind you!). Is the Demiurge a literal dude with a flowy white beard, sitting up there, in charge of either a cabal of nasty angels or (according to some of the more ridiculous silliness out there) a fleet of UFOs? Question for you: doesn’t interpreting him this way result in the same errors of reason that crop up when Biblical literalists are all like, “But God didn’t create Adam and STEEEEEEEVE!” (Answer: yes, yes it does.)
So what, then, is this Demiurge? Clearly, ideas surrounding mythology in the First Century were a little different than they are now, and it’s naive to think that, among the ancient Gnostics, there weren’t a few who believed in a literal White-Robed Beardo in the Sky. But, given the modern context here, and the need to approach the material in the spirit of Reason, let me propose an alternative understanding of the Demiurge based on the myth and its utility in our day-to-day lives. What do we know about the character of the Demiurge from the stories? (It may be helpful to go back and read the Secret Book of John at this point if you need a refresher):
- The Demiurge is not the Ultimate God, but thinks he is.
- The Demiurge was spawned from Wisdom (Sophia), but from Wisdom applied incorrectly (she screwed up).
- The Demiurge, via the creation of the Archons, is in charge of the way we perceive reality.
- The way we perceive reality is imperfect.
- The Demiurge wants us to worship him, and keeps us from understanding the True God/Pleroma.
Given these premises, what can we come up with as a definition of the Demiurge as an internal process? How about:
The Demiurge is a false and irrational Image that we construct of the relationship between the Self and God based on our imperfect knowledge of the World of Forms.
What does this mean? It means that since we’re stuck here in the realms of imperfection, it’s impossible for us to really conceptualize what we mean by “God.” So, we create an Image of God that we worship in its stead. This Image may be derived from following precepts taught by a religion. It may be socio-cultural and learned. It may be completely self-derived. It is, however, inescapable– we all have a little Demiurge in us, judging us, asking us to judge others. It’s not an external guy on a cloud or another planet; the relationship between an individual and the Demiurge is just as personal as the relationship between an individual and God.
The Demiurge resides in every person in the same sense that Sophia and the Christos reside in every person. It’s simply a matter of degree. When an individual castigates another for an accident of the World of Forms (for example, when someone is racist or bigoted), they are “ worshiping the Demiurge,” as they are acting upon impulses which are clearly based on images they have of what “should” or “shouldn’t” be. When a person negatively judges based on an image she has created, she is giving Yaldabaoth a nod. When, however, that very same person commits an act of kindness, compassion or love, they are worshipping the true, Unknown God of Sophia and the Christos.
The Demiurge is not a concept that can readily be applied to an entire religion. Some aspects of all religions are Demiurgic, when they support the judgement of individuals based on legalistic proscription. Some aspects of all religions are also, however, Sophianic, and representative of the true spiritual path we recognize as gnosis. For every Crusades (Demiurgic), we have a Catholic Social Services (Sophianic). For every Tomas de Torquemada, we have a St. Francis of Assisi.
Gnostics can worship the Demiurge, too. Some Gnostic scripture contains legalism and judgement on others based on images. Some Gnostics are terribly anti-Judaic and elitist. Some modern so-called “Gnostics” use Gnostic mythology as an excuse for anti-Semitism or cultism or guruism.
This Way implies, “Don’t worship the Demiurge.” This does not, however, mean that one should abandon one’s spiritual Path, even if that spiritual Path is “mainstream.” Remember, the Valentinians were called to task by Tertullian for accepting people of other faiths. What was meant by “Don’t worship the Demiurge” is “Don’t worship false images.” Don’t judge people unduly. Don’t put words into God’s mouth. Don’t be a jerk.
In the interest of Not Being a Jerk, now is also probably a good time to talk about something I’ve termed the Anarchonic Fallacy. This is a big one, especially among people new to the Gnostic scene, who get there via the Matrix or Elaine Pagels’ woefully out of date Gnostic Gospels. The Anarchonic Fallacy states that, since Gnostic myth often depicts The Demiurge/Creator God and the Archons in opposition to the True God, our singular duty is to ‘freak out the squares.’ Those under the spell of the Anarchonic Fallacy take the Gnostic myths as fundamentally literal as Bible-believing Christians take the story of the Flood. They believe that the purpose of the Gnostic Way is to rebel, that established institutions such as churches or political systems are no good, that the Gnostic can and should be anything she wants to be, by gum, because Nobody Can Tell Us What To Do. We see this a lot in people who think the Demiurge is controlling some Archons who control the Government/Church, therefore there is a conspiracy of UFO aliens in charge of Barack Obama/Mitt Romney’s Head and We Should Fight Them YEAH!
The problem with the Anarchonic Fallacy is, as I see it, three-fold. First, it depends upon the literal understanding of the Demiurge we talked about upstairs, i.e. there is a half-lion, half-serpent flying around in the sky directing his sinister Archons who, in turn, direct all the bad that occurs in the world. We already discussed the issues with this idea.
The second problem with the Anarchonic Fallacy is that it depends upon ideas about the Gnostics that were spread by early opponents of the movement, polemicists such as Irenaeus of Lyons. This is far from surprising– until the 1970’s, 9/10ths of the information we had about the Gnostics came from their enemies. Apart from some fragmented texts and the almost unread Pistis Sophia, if you wanted to study the Gnostics before 1974 and you weren’t a student of the Coptic language, you read the Church Fathers. The Church Fathers were opposed to philosophies that didn’t mesh with their own– a perfectly reasonable stance for Church Fathers to take– and therefore played more than a bit loose with their rhetoric and arguments. Now, however, that we have the Nag Hammadi texts, we’re coming to understand that the practices of our Alexandrian and Syrian and Chaldaen and Roman forebears was far more complex and nuanced than those portrayed by Irenaeus et al., so it damned well better be nuanced for us, too. It’s not as cut-and-dry as “GNOSTIC VERSUS DEMIURGE” or “WE GOOD, THEY BAD.”
Which brings us to the third, and most serious problem with the Anarchonic Fallacy: it completely misses the point because it doesn’t go far enough. Gnostic myth does, undoubtedly, caution us against placing faith in worldly control structures. It counsels us to rebel against the Demiurge, that Wrathful Face of God created by human misconception, and his Archons, Fear and Terror and Blind Obedience, the Planetary Powers, et al. It does tell us to laugh in the face of authority and to cast down worldly things. It does contradict much of the doctrine of the early orthodoxy and the mainstream churches as they’ve survived today. I’m personally even fond of referring to the Gnostics as the “original anarchists.”
But, this is only a Tiny Fraction of the Gnostic Story.
The point behind tearing down these structures, behind admonishing the control systems and demolishing the illusion of the world is to Rebuild It For The Pleroma. This Way isn’t about hatred or violence or the rebellion of the sullen teenaged soul who is tired of being Told What To Do. It’s about THIS, from the Valentinian Gospel of Truth:
Speak concerning the truth to those who seek it and of knowledge to those who, in their error, have committed sin. Make sure-footed those who stumble and stretch forth your hands to the sick. Nourish the hungry and set at ease those who are troubled. Foster men who love. Raise up and awaken those who sleep. For you are this understanding which encourages. If the strong follow this course, they are even stronger.
Nor is it about casting away Faith, another common trope of the Anarchonic Fallacy, that faith is somehow stupid and gnosis is where it’s at. It’s about THIS, from The Gospel of Philip:
Faith receives, love gives. No one will be able to receive without faith. No one will be able to give without love. Because of this, in order that we may indeed receive, we believe, and in order that we may love, we give, since if one gives without love, he has no profit from what he has given.
Nor is it about “freaking out the squares,” so commonly embraced by those under the sway of the Anarchonic Fallacy. This Way was never about telling people how wrong they are, no matter how canonical or mainstream. This Way is a path of kindness and love for ALL beings. This Way is a Way of Compassion. It’s about THIS, from The Dialogue of the Saviour:
Judas said, “Tell me, Lord, what the beginning of the path is.”
He said, “Love and goodness. For if one of these existed among the Archons, wickedness would never have come into existence.”
Finally– and to me this is the saddest thing about the Anarchonic Fallacy– it stops short of gnosis itself. Gnosis isn’t just a mystical experience. It’s personal acquaintance with divinity as tempered by Wisdom and Reason. There’s nothing there about hating the world and rebelling against it; it’s about cultivating an experiential attitude in which the world itself opens its gates to the inbreaking fullness of God, the Limitless Light that exists beyond individuation. It’s not equally applicable to people or organizations we simply like or dislike. It’s an experience that needs to be had to understood within its own context, and all of this rebellion is just so much distraction from the PERSONAL path. Gnosis is about YOU, not about what other people are up to!
As the Demiurge is such a personal concept, and as the danger exists that focusing too much on him will lead to the Anarchonic Fallacy we can see that claiming that such-and-such a religion or such-and-such a caste or such-and-such a political body consists of people worshiping the Demiurge commits the error of collectivist irrationality, judging an entire body of persons based upon what may be a single aspect of a single individual one has encountered. We tend to base our judgments on experience; those who claim that this or that is “Demiurgic” usually qualify this judgement by pointing to examples from the media or people they have met. The problem with this approach is that one casts aspersions onto millions of people based on one’s experiences with a handful of representatives of these belief systems. Judging the interior spiritual life of millions of people based on a handful of examples, no matter how extreme the examples, is an irrational act. So, claiming that people who are not Gnostics are worshippers of the Demiurge is in and of itself a Demiurgic Act. It is the creation of an interpretation of a reality based on the imperfect information of the World of Forms.
Don’t be the Demiurge. Conquer it. Don’t fall into the Anarchonic fallacy. Instead, try to use Sophia and the Logos, your inner Wisdom and Reason, to cut through the easy bullshit being spouted by the Yaldabaoth in your mind.

This month's interview is with lifetime occultist and author Lon Milo DuQuette. We talked with him about his new book:
Anyone who studies Wicca, Paganism or the Tarot will eventually run up against the Qabalah and Ceremonial Magic.
